Season 2022
2022 marked the year of the LCSO's return to the stage, with accompannying soloists by Celia Craig (previously the principal oboist of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra) with local guest artists Soprano Amy Williams and tuba soloist Georgina Farrugia. Following closely behind Amy were the Limestone Coast Symphonic Chorus, appearing once again with the LCSO under the directorship of Rick Fisher. The chorus woere joined by members of a children’s choir from Newbery Park Primary School under the direction of their teacher Sarah Fewster. This combined chorus sang the powerful song “I Am the Earth” by Glyn Lehmann.
The Chorus sang two original works by Warnambool composer Ken Stott, Mr Stott would also compose a tuba solo performed for the first time by Georgina Farrugia at these concerts.

The Orchestra also played a piece by Michael Lofting, an Adelaide viola player who often plays viola with the LCSO.

Other works in the gala program included The Gondolier’s Suite by Arthur Sullivan of Gilbert and Sullivan fame, and works by Offenbach, Jeremiah Clarke, Smetana, Wagner and Morton Gould. Something for every orchestra music lover.
